Welcoming the 42nd National Children's Day, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), along with its subsidiaries and affiliates, strengthens its social commitment in Kalimantan. This step is realized through a series of Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs focusing on improving the quality of maternal and child health, preventing stunting, and fulfilling educational rights for children around the company's operational areas.
Manager of Communication Relations & CID PHI, Dony Indrawan, emphasized that investing in maternal and child health is the key to developing the quality of national human resources (HR). PHI strives to create a conducive ecosystem for the growth and development of the younger generation for a more resilient future of the nation, aligned with the mission of National Children's Day to protect and build the future of the youth.
In Tarakan City, specifically in the marginal coastal area of Selumit Pantai Village, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan initiated the Beras Kuning (Yellow Rice - Together with the Community to Reduce Stunting Risk) Program. Head of Communication Relations & CID Zone 10, Elis Fauziyah, explained that this program focuses on improving the nutrition of toddlers and pregnant women to suppress local stunting rates. This initiative also fosters economic independence through the MSME "Tummy Tumu," which produces healthy complementary feeding (MPASI) based on local potential.
Meanwhile, PEP Sangasanga developed a similar health innovation through the Integrated and Prosperous Community Health Program (PROKESMAS PUJA) by establishing the Rumah Balita Sehat, Giat dan Cerdas (Bahagia) facility in Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara. Head of Communication Relations & CID Zone 9, Dharma Saputra, explained that the integrated nutrition intervention at Rumah Bahagia over the past year has successfully improved the nutritional status of most high-risk toddlers recorded in the area.
In the education sector, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) presents concrete solutions for coastal children in the Mahakam Delta through the Floating Public School Program at SMPN 6 Anggana, Kutai Kartanegara. According to the Head of Communication Relations & CID Zone 8, Achmad Krisna Hadiyanto, this program not only provides solar-powered learning facilities and digital networks but also equips students with an environmental conservation curriculum and narcotics abuse prevention.
Dony Indrawan added that these programs are implemented in compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. Through close synergy with local governments and communities, PHI is committed to continuously aligning upstream oil and gas operations with concrete contributions to prepare Indonesia's golden generation for 2045.
