The Jepara Regency Government, through the Family Welfare Empowerment Support Team (TP PKK), in synergy with the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association (PKBI) Jepara Branch, held a reproductive health socialization on Monday (27/7/2026). Located at the Dekranasda Gallery of Jepara Regency, this tactical step was also marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen health education at the grassroots level.
This collaborative step was taken in response to various family health challenges in Central Java, including Jepara Regency. According to local data, the number of marriage dispensation requests remains high, reaching 360 cases in 2025 and 184 requests recorded up to July 2026. This condition is considered to risk increasing stunting rates as well as maternal and infant mortality.
The Chairperson of TP PKK Jepara Regency, Hj. Laila Saidah Witiarso, emphasized that a mature understanding of reproductive health is an important foundation in building a resilient family. Through this program, she hopes that PKK cadres at the village level can be at the forefront of disseminating education and promoting the prevention of reproductive issues from an early stage.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of PKBI Jepara Branch, dr. Muhammad Ishaq, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants. This momentum of cooperation also serves as a catalyst for PKBI Jepara, which previously won 1st Place in the Family Planning (KB) Services Competition at the provincial level through the Wahana Sejahtera Clinic Unit during the 2026 Kartini Day Commemoration.
In the educational session, dr. Haris Ihza Mahendra was present as a speaker to thoroughly discuss the 12 Reproductive and Sexual Rights. This presentation aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding to the public regarding the right to accurate medical information, decent healthcare services, and the freedom to make responsible reproductive decisions.
