A tragic event befell a young man with the initials UM (30) in Karimun Regency. The victim reportedly drew his last breath after allegedly becoming the victim of an assault by a rogue Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Military Police (PM) officer in the early hours of Saturday (25/7/2026). The ill-fated incident took place at a local nightlife venue when the victim, with good intentions, tried to break up a fight.
This case, which has drawn public attention, is currently being intensively handled by the Military Police Detachment (Denpom) 1/6 Batam. Authorities moved quickly to secure the alleged perpetrator, who is known to be an officer with the rank of First Lieutenant (Lettu) CPM with the initials SN.
First Lieutenant CPM SN has now been officially named a suspect in the case of the alleged assault that resulted in the loss of a life. To date, the legal process against the rogue officer is still ongoing at the military investigation level to uncover the detailed chronology of the fatal incident.
