The search operation for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, who were reported missing in the Mount Bismo area, continues to be intensified. As of Saturday (4/7/2026), the joint team has not yet yielded results despite conducting intensive sweeps over the past few days.

The two victims, identified as Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15), were known to have left their home on Tuesday (30/6/2026) afternoon. Based on family statements, the two are suspected of having hiked Mount Bismo via the Rejosari Hamlet trail in Krinjing Village, but their whereabouts remain a mystery to date.

Head of Watumalang District, Arief Hardiyanto, revealed that search efforts now involve various elements, ranging from village officials, local residents, TNI-Polri personnel, to joint volunteers. A total of seven Search and Rescue Units (SRU) have been deployed to comb through forest areas, steep slopes, and hiking trails suspected to be the route taken by the two teenagers.

To enhance operational effectiveness, district authorities have coordinated with Basarnas to conduct a field assessment and determine a more targeted follow-up search strategy. The challenging terrain on the slopes of Mount Bismo poses the main obstacle currently faced by the team on the ground.

Authorities urge all hikers and community members active in the Mount Bismo area to report immediately if they find any clues or spot the two victims. Additionally, the public is asked not to spread unverified information to maintain the peace of mind of the victims' families and ensure the smooth progress of the search operation.
