The Garut Regency Government presented a special award to the local women's football team for achieving an impressive second-place finish in the Hydroplus Soccer League All Stars U-18 national competition. The presentation of the cash bonus took place in the courtyard of the Garut Regent's Office on Monday (13/7/2026).
Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin expressed his highest appreciation to the young athletes who fought hard to bring honor to the region. He expressed pride in the team's resilience in reaching the final round of the prestigious national football tournament.
"Alhamdulillah, today I received the Garut women's football contingent who achieved a proud achievement. This success is certainly surprising and at the same time a source of pride for all the people of Garut," said Regent Syakur on the sidelines of the event.
Looking ahead to the future, the Regent asked the players to remain consistent in maintaining their training intensity, especially since most of these athletes are being prepared to strengthen Garut Regency's contingent in the upcoming Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).
On the same occasion, Syakur instructed the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of Garut Regency to increase support for the sustainable development of young athletes. He emphasized the importance of holding various sports competitions at the regional level to discover more potential young talent.
"I ask KONI to continue supporting these activities. To the athletes, do not become complacent quickly and keep practicing hard, because there are still many challenges and major events we must face ahead," he concluded.
