The Lampung Provincial Government officially opened the Governor's Futsal Competition II 2026 at the GOR UIN Raden Intan Lampung on Monday (3/8/2026). This sporting event, initiated by the JRG Foundation Group, is designed as a strategic platform to scout talented young athletes while strengthening character building for the next generation at the school level.
The Head of the Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) of Lampung Province, Meiry Harika Sari, who attended representing the Governor of Lampung, expressed high appreciation to the organizers. According to her, cross-sector collaboration is crucial in advancing local sports. Synergy between the government, the private sector, and civil society is seen as the main key to the success of athlete development from an early age.
Furthermore, Meiry emphasized that this competition is not just about winning championships, but is an effective medium to instill noble values such as sportsmanship, discipline, responsibility, and leadership. This is in line with the Lampung Provincial Government's commitment to placing the development of the youth and sports sector as one of the regional priority programs by providing adequate facilities and a healthy competitive climate.
With the roll-out of this tournament, Lampung is expected to continue producing professional futsal athletes capable of competing on national and international stages, while also encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
