The Regent of Solok, Jon Firman Pandu, directly inspected the progress of the revitalization project at SMP Negeri 3 Gunung Talang on Wednesday (29/7/2026). This working visit was conducted to ensure all new facilities are ready for use to optimally support teaching and learning activities.
During the inspection, the Regent was accompanied by the Head of the Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Elafki, and the Head of the Development Department, Afrianto. The group was warmly welcomed by the Principal of SMPN 3 Gunung Talang, Rossydiana, along with the teaching staff and school administrative personnel.
Rossydiana explained that the renovation project includes a comprehensive overhaul of 20 classrooms with a budget allocation reaching Rp3.8 billion. Currently, the physical construction has entered the final phase ahead of the handover process, and supporting facilities such as new furniture are already being arranged in several rooms.
The Regent of Solok appreciated the quality of the construction, which he described as sturdy and neat. Jon Firman Pandu hopes that this school infrastructure renewal will inject new enthusiasm, both for students in their pursuit of knowledge and for educators in delivering their lessons.
During the inspection, the Regent also interacted directly with students in the classrooms. He left a message urging the entire school community to properly maintain the newly built facilities, while emphasizing the importance of hard work and respect for parents and teachers as the key to future success.
