Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) continues to encourage the strengthening of students' digital literacy in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Through the UAD Google Student Ambassador (GSA) initiative, a sharing session titled "Prompting & Generate by Gemini dan NotebookLM" was held at the Information Systems Business Strategy Laboratory, Campus IV UAD, on Friday (26/6/2026).
This educational activity was initiated by Dio Lutvi Andre, an Information Systems study program student class of 2024 who also serves as the UAD GSA 2026. The event was designed to equip students with practical skills in operating generative technology to support academic effectiveness while preparing themselves for challenges in the professional world.
During the session, participants were not only introduced to the basic concepts of AI but also directly practiced effective instruction creation techniques (prompt engineering) using Google Gemini. In addition, they explored the use of NotebookLM as a reliable digital study assistant to summarize literature and compile scientific papers. Equally interesting, participants were also invited to conduct creative experiments in making AI-based music and discuss the ethical aspects of technology utilization.
Dio emphasized the importance of changing students' paradigms regarding artificial intelligence. According to him, AI should not be viewed as a shortcut to finish college assignments instantly, but rather positioned as a thought partner capable of accelerating a deeper understanding of the material.
Furthermore, Dio assessed that mastering generative technology is now a crucial added value for university graduates. Being Google's extension on campus also provides a valuable opportunity for him to hone leadership skills, public communication, and expand professional networks with fellow technology enthusiasts at the national level.
Through this training, it is hoped that a culture of wise, innovative, and responsible AI utilization can continue to grow within the UAD academic community. Dio hopes that participants can apply these new skills in their daily lectures, research, and various other self-development projects.
