YOGYAKARTA – In an effort to support the mental health service program for the broader community, the Community Police Officer (Bhabinkamtibmas) of Sorosutan Village, Umbulharjo Police Sector, collaborated with the medical team from the Umbulharjo I Public Health Center (Puskesmas) to conduct home visits. This step was taken to accompany the medical treatment in the form of administering medicine injections to residents with mental disorders (ODGJ).

This active support from the police aims to ensure the safety and smoothness of the medical treatment process in the field. The presence of the Bhabinkamtibmas personnel is expected to create a conducive situation and assist health workers in taking a persuasive approach so that patients feel calm while receiving treatment.

The Umbulharjo I Public Health Center expressed high appreciation for this cross-sector collaboration. Managing patients with mental disorders indeed requires regular, integrated support so that the treatment process can run routinely, thereby maintaining the stability of the patients' mental health for the safety of the patients themselves and their surrounding social environment.

Through this humanitarian activity, the Umbulharjo Police Sector reaffirms its commitment to always be present in the community. The role of the police is now not only limited to maintaining security and public order, but also touches upon humanitarian aspects and social services for residents who need special attention.
