Ahead of the XXII West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), scheduled for July 16-25, 2026, the East Lombok Regency Government has initiated preventive measures by holding mass medical check-ups for all regional contingent athletes. The event, centered at GOR Selong on Sunday (5/7), served as a crucial agenda to monitor the physical condition of the 639 athletes to be deployed.
Regional Secretary of East Lombok, HM Juaini Taofik, offered appreciation and a boost of motivation to the athletes. He emphasized that participating in Porprov is not merely a stage to showcase individual skills, but a test of cohesion and teamwork. The local government harbors high hopes that the East Lombok contingent will improve its performance and achieve the set target of second overall place.
"The key to success in team competitions lies in synergy among athletes. I hope the entire contingent maintains health discipline and stamina during the quarantine period until the end of the competitions," said Juaini Taofik during his address to the athletes.
East Lombok has prepared athletes to compete in 45 sports disciplines out of a total of 52 contested. This level of participation places East Lombok among the contingents with the largest number of athletes in NTB, after Mataram City as the host. The local government also reminded all athletes to uphold the region's good reputation throughout the series of competitions in the provincial capital.
