The Judicial Commission (KY) has officially announced that 23 candidates for supreme court justices and ad hoc judges of the Supreme Court (MA) have passed the health and personality selection for the year 2026. This decision was made during a plenary meeting of the KY commissioners on Tuesday (28/7/2026) after evaluating the results of medical examinations, track records, and non-technical competency assessments of the participants.
Out of the total participants who took part in the selection process, 19 individuals were declared to have passed as candidates for supreme court justices. Additionally, two candidates passed for the position of ad hoc Anti-Corruption (Tipikor) judges and two others advanced to fill the position of ad hoc Human Rights (HAM) judges at the Supreme Court.
Deputy Chairman of KY, Desmihardi, explained that the next crucial stage for the candidates is the interview selection, scheduled to take place from August 3 to 7, 2026. In this stage, the participants will be thoroughly interviewed by a panel consisting of seven KY Members, a statesman, and a legal expert to assess their integrity, national insight, and legal expertise.
The details of the successful supreme court justice candidates include nine names for the Criminal chamber: Abdul Azis, Bambang Myanto, Dhifla Wiyani, Nirwana, Setyanto Hermawan, Sudharmawatiningsih, Sugiyanto, Suprapti, and Syamsul Arief. Meanwhile, the Civil chamber consists of IG Eko Purwanto, Nurnaningsih, Sobandi, and Suwarno. For the Religious chamber, the candidates are Achmad Nurul Huda, Mamat Ruhimat, and Musthofa, while the State Administrative chamber specializing in Tax passed L.Y. Hari Sih Advianto, Maftuh Effendi, and Yeheskiel Minggus.
Meanwhile, for the position of ad hoc Anti-Corruption judges, Andreas Eno Tirtakusuma and Sudiyo are confirmed to have passed to the next stage. On the other hand, Edwin Partogi Pasaribu and Roki Panjaitan successfully made the list of candidates for ad hoc Human Rights judges eligible to advance. KY Member, Anita Kadir, urged all participants to remain vigilant and ignore irresponsible parties promising guaranteed passage.
