The return of the brilliant South American duo's collaboration will color Persib Bandung's attacking line for the 2026/2027 competitive season. This was confirmed after the management of Maung Bandung officially signed Mariano Peralta to a two-year contract. The arrival of the Argentine winger was enthusiastically welcomed by his former Borneo FC teammate, Berguinho.
Peralta, who was named last season's Best Player, officially signed his contract with Persib on Sunday (19/7/2026). This strategic move by the management reunites the strong chemistry between him and Berguinho, who were previously key players in Pesut Etam's frontline.
Berguinho could not hide his joy at being back in the same team with someone he already considers a brother. The Brazilian attacking midfielder admitted he cannot wait to start training together to achieve the club's big targets in the new season.
Peralta's arrival is sure to intensify competition in Persib's winger positions. Prior to the arrival of the former Borneo FC player, the Blue Prince's wings were already occupied by prominent names such as Uilliam Barros, Beckham Putra Nugraha, and Ragnar Oratmangoen. Nonetheless, Berguinho believes this fierce internal competition is actually a huge advantage for the team.
This condition is deemed highly crucial given that Persib Bandung will face a packed schedule across four different competitions this season, including the Asian-level competition, AFC Champions League Two. Berguinho also emphasized the importance of a winning mentality for every new player to bear the high expectations of millions of loyal supporters, the Bobotoh.
