The graduation ceremony held by UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung on Saturday (11/7/2026) was not only a sacred momentum for the graduates, but also an economic magnet for small business owners around the campus area.

The hustle and bustle of arriving families and relatives of the graduates was utilized by several traders to earn a living. One of them was Nidia Tikanovianti, who specifically sold various souvenirs such as flower bouquets, keychains, and other graduation celebration accessories.

According to Nidia, visitor enthusiasm at this graduation event felt significantly higher compared to the previous period. She mentioned that sales trends showed a positive curve, with doll-flower bouquet combinations becoming the most sought-after product among visitors.

Although she mostly operates online day-to-day, her physical presence in the campus area during graduation is considered a very effective strategy to boost turnover. For her, direct interaction with consumers at the event venue offers distinct advantages.

Small business owners around the campus environment hope that graduation events can continue to take place sustainably. Beyond being an academic celebration, this activity is proven to drive the local economic wheel and make a tangible contribution to the income of the surrounding community.
