A fire broke out at a waste disposal site located in Bojong Kulur Hamlet, Bojong Kulur Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency. The incident, which raised concerns among nearby residents, was reported to have occurred on Thursday (16/7/2026) early in the morning.
Head of the Bogor Regency Fire and Rescue Department, Yudi Santosa, confirmed that the report of the raging fire first reached the fire station at 02:56 WIB. Officers immediately moved quickly to the location to handle the situation.
Firefighting efforts at the waste disposal site were quite tough because the burning materials reportedly fueled flames that were difficult to tame. Firefighters required around four hours of hard work on the ground before the fire was finally completely extinguished.
As of now, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by authorities. Nevertheless, local residents are urged to remain vigilant and refrain from burning trash or waste carelessly to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
