President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of maintaining national integrity by setting aside all forms of rivalry following political competitions. This was stated by the President during the 79th National Cooperative Day commemoration in Jakarta, Sunday (12/7/2026), as a reminder for all elements of the nation to synergize once again.
In his speech, President Prabowo highlighted that political competition is a natural dynamic in a democratic system. However, he stressed that this process must not leave behind long-lasting grudges or hostilities that could hinder the grand agenda of national development.
To illustrate the importance of a gracious attitude, the President touched upon the political dynamics he shared with the General Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar. Despite having been in opposing political camps, the two have now united in government to prioritize national interests over group ambitions.
The President likened political rivalry to a sports match that must uphold sportsmanship. According to him, after the referee blows the final whistle, all competing parties should embrace one another once again and work together to achieve a common goal: the welfare of the people.
Concluding his directive, the President invited all stakeholders to prove the identity of the Indonesian nation as a harmonious and united people. This spirit of togetherness is believed to be the main asset in accelerating Indonesia's development toward a better and more resilient future.
