Volcanic activity at Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara showed an increase again early Monday (6/7/2026). According to an official report from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), the eruption occurred precisely at 00:59 WITA.
Visual monitoring showed that the volcano spewed a column of volcanic ash approximately 500 meters above the peak, or about 2,084 meters above sea level. The observed ash material was thick with a dominant gray color, moving toward the north and northeast sectors.
Instrumentally, the seismograph recorded this eruptive activity with a maximum amplitude of 18.5 millimeters and an eruption duration of 46 seconds. To date, authorities continue to conduct intensive monitoring of the volcano's fluctuating activity to ensure the safety of the community in the surrounding affected areas.
