Top American pop singer Ariana Grande is reportedly taking a long break or hiatus from the entertainment industry and the public spotlight. This decision will take effect after she completes her "Eternal Sunshine" world tour early next month.
Following this decision to take a break, the "Thank U, Next" singer is confirmed to have pulled out of starring in the classic musical theater production by Stephen Sondheim, "Sunday in the Park with George", which is scheduled to take place at the Barbican in London in 2027. This step was taken amid growing public attention and speculation regarding the artist's health and physical appearance recently.
Representatives for Ariana Grande confirmed to the media that the decision to step back from the entertainment stage is intended to allow the star to rest fully from constant public pressure. Nevertheless, she remains committed to completing the rest of her tour schedule with her best performance and in prime condition. Her final concert is scheduled to take place on September 1 in London.
The theater production promoter, Empire Street Productions, expressed support for the decision and understanding of the situation faced by Grande. To date, the production has not announced a replacement to star alongside English actor Jonathan Bailey in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical project.
