The Medan Police Drug Investigation Unit has successfully arrested DD (28), a man strongly suspected of being the main supplier of liquid vape narcotics to the Helen’s Night Mart nightclub on Jalan Setia Budi, Medan Sunggal. The arrest of the Polonia resident is the result of developments following the arrest of a previous suspect, FA (24), who was caught while trying to distribute the illicit goods.

Medan Police Chief of Drug Investigation, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Rafli Yusuf Nugraha, confirmed the arrest made on Sunday (3/8/2026) in the early hours. According to Rafli, DD, who was previously a fugitive, was finally secured after officers conducted an intensive investigation following FA's arrest in the field.

However, police did not find any remaining narcotic evidence when arresting DD. The suspect admitted to investigators that his entire stock of drug-infused liquid vape of the "Pod Getar" type had sold out, including the three vape pods carried by FA to be marketed at the nightlife venue.

As a follow-up step, officers seized one mobile phone belonging to the suspect, which contains communication history with couriers and records of drug sale transactions. The Medan Police are currently examining DD's statement to map out the distribution route and dismantle the liquid drug trafficking network to its roots.
